Sigfred C. "Mr. Chick" Orlandi, 71, a longtime barber in Downtown Boston, died Monday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a short illness. He was the husband of Catherine H. "Kay" (DiMino) Orlandi. Born in Boston, he was raised in the North End and was a graduate of Columbus High School in the North End. Mr. Chick was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was the owner and longtime barber of Mr. Chick's Barber Shop on Sumner Street in Boston for over 40 years. He was featured in numerous Boston Globe articles in the Business Section during the late 1990's. He retired at age 65. For the past few years, he worked part time at the Reebok Headquarters in Canton as a barber. Mr. Chick was a member of Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton and a Ranger there.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Annette M. Scannapieco and her husband Edward of Franklin and Carl J. Orlandi and his wife Frances of Byfield. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, September 1 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. At the request of the Orlandi Family, flowers will not be accepted. Donations in Mr. Chick's name may be made to the St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial will be private.
