Shirley F. (Curry) Curry, 90, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, December 13, 2018. She was the wife of John F. Curry for 69 years. Daughter of the late Thomas H. and Mary M. (Cyr) Curry, she was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Dorchester. Shirley lived in various locations around the U.S. while her husband served 27 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. She settled in Stoughton in 1953. She was a homemaker at home with her family. Shirley was a member of the West Stoughton Civic Association and Sharon Country Club. She enjoyed shopping and traveling, especially to Disney World and the Coast Guard Cottage in Hillsboro, FL. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Thomas J. Curry and his wife Shelly of Mansfield, John F. Curry and his wife Deborah of Attleboro, Jayne M. Curry of Stoughton and Michael G. Curry and his wife Marie of Mt. Airy, MD. She was the grandmother of Tiffany, Joshua, Alexander, Shawn, Ryan, Matthew and Justin Curry and is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, December 17 from 9:30-11 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Shirley's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.(www.stjude.org)
