Shirley Ann (Clark) Alfano, 66, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Saturday at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of Anthony D. Alfano. Born in New Britain, CT, she was graduate of St. Mary's School and New Britain High School. She also attended Teacher's College of CT and was a graduate of Mass. Dept of Mental Health Nursing School as an LPN. Mrs. Alfano was a homemaker. Mrs. Alfano also worked as a Teacher's Aide in both the Chemung and South Schools. A longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Crosstown Quilters. She was also a volunteer for the Red Cross. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony and her four sons: Rev. Michael A. J. Alfano of Groton; Daniel T. and his wife Tina of CA; Stephen D. and his wife Agnes of LA and Joseph C. and his wife Cheryl of Methuen. Cherished sister of Elizabeth C. Wieloch of CT, Gerald J. Clark of VT; and the late Timothy F. Clark. Loving daughter of the late Timothy S. Clark and the late Margaret T. Clark (Schmitt). Grandmother of William Raff and Zachary Alfano. Also survived by an aunt, an uncle, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held at Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rte 27) in Stoughton on Wednesday July 6th from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass and celebration of her life will be held at St. Mary Church, 221 N. Main Street (Rte 28) in Randolph on Thursday, July 7th, at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions should be made in her memory to the Lupus Foundation of America, PO Box 631047 Baltimore, MD 21263-1047. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph.
