Sharon Ann (Etzbach) Farrell, 73, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away Thursday evening, July 31 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after heart complications. Daughter of the late Donald J. and Violet Maxine (Davis) Etzbach, she was born in Mendota, Illinois. She has called Stoughton home since 1966 ? one of the Grande Dames of the Circle. Mrs. Farrell was an executive assistant last employed by the Bricklayers Union in Boston. She was very active in the local community including volunteering with the League of Women Voters in the 1970's, at the Stoughton Public Library as well as many local senior centers, Past President and member of the Stoughton Lions Club and member of the First Congregational Church in Stoughton. She also enjoyed her walking club, knitting and playing golf.
Sharon was the loving mother of Diana Mooney of Marietta, GA, Catherine Realica of University Place, WA, Sean Farrell and Patrice Farrell both of Easton. She was the cherished grandmother of 8 and great-grandmother of 2. She was the sister of James Etzbach of Marietta, GA and Donna Hammack of Memphis, TN and is also survived by a loving niece and 2 nephews. She was a fabulous mother-in-law to many.
Memorial Service will be held at First Congregational Church, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton on Sunday, August 3 at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours omitted. Interment will be private.
