Sandra J. Sasowski, 64, died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester after a period of failing health. She was the wife of 32 years of Jack W. Yates. Sandra was raised in Glen, New York and was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Schools. She continued her studies at State University of New York at Albany, earning her degree in Biology and earned her Master's Degree in Epidemiological Engineering at Tufts University. Ms. Sasowski worked as a biostatistician at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston for several years. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 25 years. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother and in her free time she enjoyed reading, especially detective novels, gardening and art history.
In addition to her husband, Sandra is survived by her beloved son, Nicholas Sasowski Yates of Baltimore, Maryland; her mother, Gladys Sasowski of New York and her siblings, Marlene Tepper, Daniel Sasowski and Jo-Anne Sasowski all of New York. She is also survived by 3 nieces.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Rt. 27, Stoughton on Thursday, September 18 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, 560 Page St., Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra's memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
