Samuel N. Caddell, 87, a resident of East Bridgewater, died peacefully at Brockton Hospital on Monday, June 5, 2017. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Smith) Caddell for 63 years. Son of the late Thomas and Charlotte (McGinnis) Caddell, he was born and raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1947. He resided in Stoughton for 54 years before living in West Bridgewater for 30 years and East Bridgewater for the past 3 years. Samuel was a foreman with the Keystone Corporation in Dorchester for 25 years before working for Baker Bros. in Stoughton for 20 years until his retirement in 1995. He then delivered for Meals on Wheels with the Council on Aging in West Bridgewater. Mr. Caddell served in the U.S. Army Massachusetts National Guard for 25 years, retiring as a First Sergeant. He loved dancing, listening to Irish music, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Caddell is survived by his children, Kevin N. Caddell and his wife Karen of Marion, Brian T. Caddell and his wife Joanne of West Bridgewater and Colleen F. Merola and her husband Kevin of East Bridgewater. He was the brother of the late John, Thomas, David and Jonathan Caddell and Charlotte Barber. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, June 8 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ann Church, West Bridgewater at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
