Salvatore Joseph DeGregorio, 89, a resident of Brockton, died peacefully at home on Monday, September 18, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Ienello) DeGregorio, Donna DeGregorio and Kathleen A. (McNamara) DeGregorio. Son of the late Joseph and Alexandria (Zelteruckow) Gregory, he was born in Boston and raised in Boston’s West End. He was a graduate of The Blackstone School in the West End. Sal moved to Stoughton in 1962 and resided there until moving to Brockton in 1996. He worked for TWA at Logan Airport for 15 years before joining the Teamsters Local 22 in Boston, where he worked for over 25 years until retiring at age 71. Sal was a member of the American Legion Post 89 and Sons of Italy both in Stoughton, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks both in Norwood and the Vaga Club in Brockton. He enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards and keeping his Cadillac shiny and spotless.
Sal is survived by his children, Denise M. Black and Paula J. DeGregorio and her husband Richard Fagerberg all of Stoughton, Lynn A. DeGregorio of Plymouth and Christopher S. DeGregorio of Boston. He was the grandfather of Lindsey Dymon, Anthony Buccilli, Scott Batten and Shana Andrews and the great-grandfather of Jackson and Kennedy Dymon. He was the brother of Kathleen Murphy of Oregon and the late Priscilla Weber. He is also survived by several step-children and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, September 22 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 21 from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sal‘s memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
