Ruth May (Alexander) Sutton, 82, a longtime resident of Sharon, died peacefully at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, March 7, 2016. She was the wife of Clinton E. Sutton for 46 years. Born in Helena, AR, she was raised and educated in Kansas City, KS. She also graduated from Boston University School of Dentistry with a certificate for Dental Technician. Ruth was a resident of Sharon for the past 44 years. She was a Dental Assistant at Boston City Hospital for over 30 years before retiring in 1999. Mrs. Sutton was a longtime member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Boston. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening.
In addition to her husband, Ruth is survived by her children, Ruben Stuckey of Anchorage, Alaska, Barry Alexander of Haverhill, April Sutton and Jason Sutton both of Sharon, Eyma Sutton of Mansfield and Letta Sutton-Vaughn of Foxboro. She was the sister of Wade Miller of Texas and Clarence Miller of llinois and she was preceded in death by several siblings. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 157 W. Springfield St., Boston on Friday, March 11 at 11 AM. Visitation prior from 9:30-11 AM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the BNS Scholarship Fund, c/o Janice K. Sutton, 2610 New Garden Rd., E.
