Ruth M. (Lipper) Mitchell, 88, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late David Mitchell. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a graduate of Brockton High School. Mrs. Mitchell was a longtime resident of Stoughton. She worked as the office manager for her husband and son's business, F. Mitchell and Son Plumbing, for many years. She retired several years ago. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Stoughton Republican Town Committee. She was a town meeting representative and a poll worker for many years.
She is survived by her two sons, Edward F. Mitchell and his wife Linda of FL and Steven D. Mitchell and his wife Jeanne of Stoughton. She was the sister of the late Edward Lipper and George Robert Lipper. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, March 14, at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemtery, Stoughton. Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Way, Boston, MA 02115.
