Ruth Craig Horan, 89, surrounded by her family, died peacefully Thursday, March 21st at the Southeast Rehabilitation Center in Easton of natural causes. Mrs. Horan was the wife of the late Edward T. "Red" Horan. She was the daughter of the late Franklin Craig and Florence Barry Craig of North Easton. Born and raised in N. Easton, she was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School. An accomplished swimmer, she was also a self-taught musician who entertained many by playing an electric Hawaiian guitar as well as piano, organ and harmonica. She was a homemaker for 54 years in Sharon and was famous for her fruit jello molds. She and her husband were active in fund raising for the construction of the Chapel of Our Savior on Westgate Dr. in Brockton as well as fund raising for electric wheelchairs for the children of Mass Hospital School. She was a teacher of CCD for 33 years. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She will be missed by many friends and admirers.

Mrs. Horan is survived by her children, William T. Horan and Edward T. Horan, Jr. both of Stoughton, MaryElizabeth Horan of S. Boston, James M. Horan and Peter G. Horan both of N. Easton, Daniel P. Horan and Ruth M. Nelson both of Brockton and Regina M. Dallaire of Sharon, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the beloved sister of Jeanne C. Daley of FL, Nancy B. Habermann of S. Yarmouth and FL and John B. Flynn of Bourne. Mrs. Horan was predeceased by George H. Craig, Franklin E. Craig, Jr., Richard M. Craig, Robert H. Craig, Donald F. Craig, Bradford W. Craig, Dorothy L. Craig, Marjorie Craig, and Anne M. LeSieur. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, March 26 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, N. Easton.
