Ruth E. Francis

Ruth E. (Roche) Francis, 84, died at the Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Canton on Friday, July 4, 2014. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Francis. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Arlington and Somerville. She was a resident of Stoughton for 10 years after living in Brockton and Dorchester for many years. Mrs. Francis was a devoted mother, grandmother and Catholic. She enjoyed traveling, trips to Foxwoods and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Francis is survived by her children, Richard C. Francis, Chief of Brockton FD and his wife Mary and Jo-Ann M. Batakis and her husband Richard all of Brockton, William A. Francis and his wife Barbara and Carolyn R. Francis all of Stoughton, Elizabeth C. Burow and her husband Charles of Westborough, Christopher J. Francis and his wife Kristen of Weymouth and John E. Francis and his wife Susan of Marstons Mills. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 9 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 3-7 PM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory may be sent to the Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021.
