Russell P. Sullivan, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Brockton, died Friday, June 25, at the Hospice Care Center in New Port Richey, FL after a period of failing health. Born in New York City, he was raised in Quincy Point and attended Quincy Schools. As a youth, he was a Golden Gloves Boxer and a Stock Car Racer. He was a longtime Ironworker for Local 7 in Boston and also worked on the Alaska Pipeline. He retired in 1994 and moved to New Port Richey, FL. Prior to moving to Florida, he resided in Brockton for over 20 years. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, boating out of Green Harbor in Marshfield and deep sea fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Lisa M. Sullivan Rohrbacher, Kim E. Sullivan and Shawn T. Sullivan all of Brockton and Kevin P. Sullivan of Bridgewater. He was the grandfather of Tiffani Rohrbacher, Kasey, Courtney and Carly Sullivan, Kristi Bowlby, Samantha and Nicholas Gouveia and Haylie Freeman. He was the brother of Robert Sullivan of Scituate. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral prayers will be offered on Sunday, July 25 at 7 PM at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton. Visiting Hours prior to the prayers from 4-7 PM. Donations in Russ's name may be made to Ironworkers Local 7 Scholarship Fund, 195 Old Colony Ave, POBox 7, South Boston, MA 02127.
