Russell J. LaFrance, Sr., 85, died at his home on Thursday, January 25. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth A. (Masickis) LaFrance. Born in Stoughton, he was a lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of Stoughton Schools. Mr. LaFrance was a Veteran of the US Army in WWII. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for Foxboro Concrete Forms for 45 years, retiring at age 68. Mr. LaFrance was a friend of Bill W. for over 23 years. He enjoyed all sports and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by his children: Jody Bauer and her husband Charles of Brockton, Russell J. Jr., of CT, Richard "Turtle" of Stoughton, Lisa M. Beaucaire and her husband Paul of E. Bridgewater, Michael J. and Stephen A. and his wife Sheila all of Stoughton. Mr. LaFrance was the brother of Genevieve Forrest of Plymouth, Evelyn Perry of NY, Jack of NH and the late William and Robert. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, January 30 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8 PM. Donations in Russell's name may be made to American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
