Roy F. Leonard, 86, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at BayPointe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brockton on Friday, January 7, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Theresa M. (Angelos) Leonard. Son of the late Melvin and Dora (Morrissey) Leonard, he was born and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1954, and also served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an electrician and owned Leonard Electric in Stoughton for 31 years before retiring several years ago. He also served as the Electrical Inspector for the Town of Stoughton for many years.

Roy was very active in civic events, serving as the Past King Lion of the Stoughton Lions Club and a past Board Member of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce. He also was a Past Trustee at both the Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton and Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton. He was also a Director and Trustee at Randolph Savings Bank. In his free time, Roy enjoyed spending time with his family.

Roy was the father of James M. Leonard and his wife Melissa J. Leonard of Stoughton, Donna Holt and her husband Richard O. Holt of Middleboro, Richard Leonard of Taunton and the late Mary Lou Leonard. He was the brother of Earl Leonard of Lake Placid, FL, Barbara Leonard of Stoughton and the late Charles Leonard, Dorothy Daly, Gertrude Leary and Melvin Leonard, Jr. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Due to the pandemic, Funeral Services are private. A celebration of Roy's life will be held at a later date. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
