Rose T. (Mercuri) Connolly, in her 91st year, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 3, 2019, at her home in East Bridgewater. She was the wife of 71 years of John S. Connolly. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Roxbury and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. She was a resident of East Bridgewater for the past 12 years and previously lived in Stoughton for over 50 years. Mrs. Connolly was a homemaker who later in life worked for American Data Systems Marketing in Stoughton for several years. She was a longtime volunteer at the Goddard Memorial Hospital in Stoughton. Mrs. Connolly was known for her exceptional Italian cooking and baking. She was a member of the Daughters of Italy in Stoughton for many years. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Rose is survived by her daughters, Janet R. Woodruff and her husband Stephen F. of Bridgewater and Christine S. Rose and her husband James D. of Lynnfield. She was the sister of Lois Trocki of Bridgewater, Sonny Mercuri of Avon and the late Sue Caliguire and Phyllis Mercuri. She was Nonni to John Morrissey, Stephen F. Woodruff, Jr., Lincoln Rose and Samantha Rose. She was the great grandmother of John Morrissey, Jr and James Morrissey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11AM.
