Roque A. Jorge, 77, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness on Thursday, September 4, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 51 years of Maria Ines (Coelho) Jorge. Born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal, he resided in Stoughton since 1967. Mr. Jorge was a machine operator at Ark-Les Switch in Stoughton for over 30 years before retiring in 2000. He enjoyed gardening and watching Benfica, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jorge is survived by his children, Anibal A. Jorge and his wife Joy of Wasilla, AK and Isabel M. Thomas and her husband Darren of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Peter, Christopher, Arianna, Alexia, Darren, Jr. and the late Cheyanne. He is also survived by several sisters, nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, September 8 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 3-6 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
