SGT MAJ Ronald A. Drago, USMC/USMCR (Ret.),76, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully in his sleep on November 18, 2018 at his home in Cumberland, RI. He was the beloved husband of 13 years of Kathleen A. (Reid) Drago. Born in Somerville, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1960. He also earned his Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University in 1985. Sgt. Maj. Drago was a dedicated Marine who served proudly for over 36 years in the Corps and Marine Corps Reserve through two tours of Vietnam and one tour in the Persian Gulf. He retired many years ago. He continued his life of public service by serving his hometown of Stoughton as a Police Officer and the DARE officer for over 28 years, retiring in 1999. Upon his retirement, he worked for the Department of Homeland Security for three years. He was a member of the VFW in Stoughton. Sgt. Maj. Drago was an accomplished golfer with a 2 handicap and enjoyed golfing at DW Field Park Golf Course in Brockton. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Sgt. Maj. Drago was the father of Robin L. McKeon and her husband John, who was Ron's best friend and companion, of RI, Laura H. Faherty and her husband Peter of Norton, Melissa L. McHugh of Brockton, Wendy S. Romaine and her husband Keith of Stoughton, Ronald A. Drago of Easton and the late Dawnmarie Surdam. He was the brother of Vincent Drago of Stoughton, Michael Drago of NH and the late Louis and Susan Drago. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, November 23, at 5 PM. Visiting Hours prior to the prayers from 3-5 PM. Interment will take place with full military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at a later date. Donations in Ron's memory may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
