Ronald Benedetti

Ronald Benedetti, 68, a lifelong resident of West Roxbury, died unexpectedly at Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain on Sunday, February 16, 2020. Son of Mary Grace (Renzi) Benedetti of West Roxbury and the late Rocco P. Benedetti, he was born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1969 and earned his Associate Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Ron was a longtime business entrepreneur, getting his start in 1971 as a partner in Mr. Mobile Wash, a truck washing franchise. In 1984, he became the first SuperCoups franchisee and grew his operation to be its largest franchise, mailing over 2 million households. He continued to pursue his passion selling direct mail for both Valassis & Clipper Magazine under his business Direct Home Advertising, Inc. (DHA). He was a pioneer in his industry and highly regarded by clients and colleagues alike. Vowing to never retire from what he loved to do, Ron worked on behalf of his customers until his last days.

In addition to being the godfather of direct mail advertising, his passions included spending time with his daughter, and business partner, Laura and his granddaughter, Alex. Ron doted on his granddaughter Alex and cherished every moment with her. He was an auto racing hobbyist and became an accomplished amateur race car driver, proud to bring home those checkered flags. Ron had an endearing personality, a quick wit and heart of gold. He will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, Ron is survived by his daughter and business partner, Laura Benedetti and her fiancé Evan Taylor of Stoughton and his granddaughter, Alexandra Benedetti. He was the brother of Robert P. Benedetti and his wife Diana of Canton and Richard D. Benedetti and his wife Virginia of St. Petersburg, FL. He is also survived by his former wife, Cynthia H. (Hopkins) Benedetti, as well as a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and business associates.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, February 20 at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of Alexandra Benedetti for an education fund.
