Roger F. McGillicuddy, 67, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at home on Tuesday, January 14 surrounded by family. He was the husband of Bonita M. (Banks) McGillicuddy. Born in Boston, he was raised in Mission Hill and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Class of 1964 in Jamaica Plain. He resided in Stoughton for 43 years. Mr. McGillicuddy was a pressman for the Boston Globe for 38 years before retiring 12 years ago. He was the former Chairman of the Pressman Union at the Boston Globe. He was a member of the Randolph Elks and was active in Stoughton Little League for many years. He was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed playing golf and boating.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McGillicuddy is survived by his children, Steven R. McGillicuddy and his wife Amy of North Carolina, Kevin T. McGillicuddy and his wife Janice of Walpole, Robyn M. Cavero and her husband Cristofer of N. Attleboro and Devon B. McGillicuddy of Avon. He was the grandfather of Karissa, Nyle, Payton and Kylie. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, January 18 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
