Roberta M. (Hennessey) DeAndrade, 74, died Monday, November 19, 2007 at her home after a long period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of Joseph E. DeAndrade. Born in Boston, she was a resident of Stoughton for over 51 years. Mrs. DeAndrade was raised and educated in Randolph and a graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph. She worked as a Switchboard Operator for New England Telephone for many years, then as a secretary for Dykeman Electric in Stoughton. She retired 20 years ago. Active in town politics, Mrs. DeAndrade was the Former Chairperson for both the Board of Selectmen and the Stoughton Housing Authority. She was also a member of the Democratic Town Committee and a Stoughton Town Meeting Representative. Mrs. DeAndrade was also a communicant and active member of the Immaculate Conception Church. A lover of dogs, in her free time, she enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by her godchildren Brenda Sjoquist and Kenneth Lessa both of Stoughton. She was the sister of Paul Leahy of Lynn and the late Patricia Leahy.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, November 24 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 AM.
