Robert O. White, 80, a resident of Stoughton, died at Baypointe Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Thursday, February 16. He was the husband of 47 years of Delda H. (Herrick) White. Son of the late Llewellyn B. White and Susannah Moody, he was born in New York City and raised in Manhattan. He was a graduate of the Trinity Pauling School in Pauling, NY and Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. He received his Master's Degree in English Literature from Columbia University in New York City and his Ph.D. in English Literature from Boston University. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1994 after living in Dorchester Lower Mills for 25 years.
Mr. White was a Specialist in the U.S. Army and a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a professor at the Mass. College of Pharmacy for 17 years and then Curry College for several years before retiring many years ago. In his free time he enjoyed reading and watching football.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, February 21 at 12 Noon. Visiting Hours omitted. Donations in Robert's memory may be sent to the First Congregational Church, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
