Robert J. Tarchara, 81, died peacefully Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Boston Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Rosalie (Turell) Tarchara. Born and raised in Stoughton, he graduated from Stoughton High School in 1956 and then became a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. His love of cars led him to a career in auto sales. Robert was a notary and a member of the Portuguese National Club and the Brockton YMCA. In his free time, he enjoyed seafood, watching the Patriots and especially spending time with his family.
Robert is survived by his children; Carol A. Perkins and her husband John E. of Attleboro, Robert T. Tarchara and his wife Alina of Canton and James R. Tarchara and his wife Susan M. of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Amanda, Ashley, Derek, Danielle and Jimmy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Caroline (Ferreira) Tarchara and his sisters, Margaret and Evelyn.
Visiting hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday from 9-10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to Fisher House Boston, PO Box 230, S. Walpole, MA 02071.
