Robert Louis Stephansky, 74, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died after an illness on July 25, 2017 in Stuart, FL. He was married to the late Beverley A. Stephansky for 51 years. He was raised in Roslindale and lived in Stoughton since 1967. Bob was an Airman 1st Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was actively involved as a coach in Stoughton Youth Hockey for many years. Bob worked at Polaroid, until retirement, as a designer. He was a wood worker, handy man and a general "jack-of-all-trades" and was known for always helping out with neighbors, family and friends.
Bob was the father of David A. Stephansky and his wife Linda of Stoughton, Kathleen D. Perez and her husband Ernie of Stuart, FL, and Joyce A. Stephansky of Alexandria, VA and her late husband Brian R. Powilatis. He was grandfather to Robert B. Stephansky, Jillian M. Stephansky, Benjamin R. Powilatis, and Camille K. Powilatis. He was the brother to Walter Stephansky of Norfolk, MA, and Dale Stephansky of West Roxbury, MA, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory can be made to Simple Changes Therapeutic Riding Program, PO Box 991, Lorton, VA 22199.
