Robert J. Sprissler, 62, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Susan L. (Dimond) Sprissler. Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of South Boston Plain High School. He resided in Stoughton for over 40 years. Bob was a longtime machinist at Trim Alloy in Randolph. He also owned a machine shop in Brockton, worked at Microgroup in Medway. For several years, he was a driver and switchboard operator for the Town of Stoughton Council on Aging and a ticket taker at Gillette Stadium. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 18 years. He was a life member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 89 in Stoughton. For many years, he was a coach for Stoughton Little League and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2000. He was an avid bowler and competed in bowling leagues at Stoughton Sports Center for many years and appeared on Bowling for Dollars. An avid Boston sports fan, he also enjoyed cooking and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Robert A. Sprissler and his wife Kimberly of Stoughton, Kevin Sprissler of Taunton and Steven Sprissler and his wife Jennifer of Centerville. He was the grandfather of James, Elisabeth, Katie, Lilianna, Olivia, Abigail and Savannah. He was the brother of Joseph, Barbara and Helen Sprissler, Theodore Sprissler, Jr. and Christine Nordstrom all of Brockton and Michael Sprissler of Washington and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, December 8, 2015 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday, December 7, 2015, from 5-8 PM.
