Robert A. Smith, 58, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at home on Friday, March 19. He was the son of Imelda (Griffin) Smith of Stoughton and the late Anthony J. Smith. Born in Newfoundland, Canada, he was educated in Stoughton schools. Mr. Smith was a property manager for Mark Montagano in New Bedford for over 10 years. In his free time he enjoyed traveling, gardening, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.
Mr. Smith was the brother of Anthony J. Smith, Jr. and James M. Smith both of Bourne, John M. Smith of CA, Cornelius E. Smith, Gerald J. Smith, Constance Badin, Genevieve Glennon, Judith A. Ingemanson and Kelly Schiffer all of Stoughton, Dellis M. Donahue of Abington, Anna Berube of Bridgewater, Margaret L. Fontaine of Watertown, Elizabeth Gailius of Raynham, Rosemary Valiente of Sharon and the late Mary Boudreau. He is also survived by 32 nieces and nephews, and 26 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, March 23 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Robert's name may be made to Hospice of Greater Brockton, 500 Belmont St., Suite 215, Brockton, MA 02301.
