Robert E. Sheeran

Robert E. Sheeran, 86, a longtime resident of West Hartford, CT, died peacefully at his home in Stoughton, on Saturday, January 2, 2016. He was the husband of 53 years of Mary (Barnes) Sheeran. Born and raised in Woodlawn, NY, he was educated in New York City and was a graduate of New York University. He worked as a Nuclear Engineer for Combustion Engineering, later known as A.B.B. Engineering, in Windsor, CT for many years, retiring several years ago. Mr. Sheeran was a resident of West Hartford, CT for over 48 years, moving to Stoughton, 3 years ago to be closer to his family. In his free time, he enjoyed long walks with his wife, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Sean and his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Sheeran and his grandchildren; Robert, John and Helen Sheeran all of Canton. He was the brother of the late John Sheeran, Alfred Sheeran, James Sheeran and Ann Werdal. He was survived by many nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law Ann Clerkin of Farmington, CT

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 7 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Canton, MA. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-8750.
