Robert A. McCormick

Robert A. McCormick, 83, of New Bedford, died Sunday, May 31, at the Oaks Nursing Center in New Bedford after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Jacqueline R. (Bellefeuille) McCormick. Born in Stoughton, he was raised in New Bedford. He was a graduate of New Bedford High School and was Class President of the Class of 1943. Mr. McCormick was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy. He was a self-employed Manufacturers Representative for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Margaret J. McCormick of New Bedford, Patricia A. Harnett and her husband Timothy of Middleboro, Kelley B. and his wife Nancy of Dedham, Matthew and his wife Erin of Medfield and Michele J. Goncalves and her husband Manuel of Acushnet. He was the brother of Rosemary Smith of AZ, Anne Fisher of Fairhaven, Dee Foerst of FL and the late Michael F. McCormick. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 66 nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, June 5, at 9 AM. Visiting Hours omitted. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445 or to the Samaritans, 141 Tremont St., 7th Floor, Boston, MA 02111.
