Robert R. Marden, 82, died peacefully Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Stoughton. He was the husband of Frances R. (Porro) Marden and the son of the late Roy W. Marden and Anne L. (MacDonald) Marden. Bob and Franie celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary Saturday, September 29th. Born in Boston, Bob was raised and educated in Dorchester, and was a graduate of Boston Trade School. Bob worked as a Crane Operator at Marr Equipment for over 25 years and was a member of Operating Engineers-Local 4 for over 60 years. Bob and Fran together have been an active couple in both the Stoughton community and their second home in Bradenton, Florida, even managing the Stoughton Little League Snack Bar for several years. Bob was well known for his wicked sense of humor. He was a life member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 200 in Stoughton. Mr. Marden enjoyed reading, watching TV, playing cribbage, spending time with friends, and watching the Red Sox. He was an avid fan of all Boston Sports teams. Since his retirement, 20 years ago, Bob and Franie have enjoyed wintering in Bradenton, FL. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children, Jean F. Marden of VA, James R. Marden and his wife Beth of Easton, Jeffrey T. Marden and his spouse Robb Winger of FL, Jacqueline M. MacDonald and her husband Shawn of Brockton, Joanne E. Marden of VA and Julie A. Smith and her husband Jefferson of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Robert R. Marden II, Rachel A. Ryan, Jillian and Lindsey MacDonald, Patrick J. Smith and Cory Enos. He was the great-grandfather of Harrison Ryan and Zachary Enos. He was predeceased by his siblings, Geraldine Maiorana, John Marden and Virginia Nee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
