Robert W. MacGowan

Robert W. "Mac" MacGowan, 83, died at the New Hampshire Veteran's Home in Tilton, NH on Wednesday, January 12. Son of the late James K. and Winifred A. (Wilson) MacGowan, he was born and raised in Brockton. He was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1945. Mr. MacGowan was a lifelong resident of Brockton until moving to Tilton 5 years ago. He was a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. He was a meter reader for Brockton Edison and Eastern Utilities for 45 years before retiring over 15 years ago. He was a longtime member of DW Field Golf Course.
Mr. MacGowan is survived by his children, Robert K. MacGowan and his wife Mary Jo of Webster, NH and Susan A. MacGowan of Arlington. He was the nephew of Kathleen Binder of SC. He is also survived by his former wife, Ann F. (Creed) MacGowan.
Funeral Service will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Monday, January 17 at 6 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 3-6 PM. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations in Robert's name may be made to the Alzheimer Assn., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
