Robert F. Kelly

Robert F. Kelly, 60, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn E. (Scala) Kelly. Born in Boston to the late Walter Kelly and Theresa Marie (Downey) Kelly, he was raised in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of Boston Trade School. He worked as a lineman for Verizon in South Boston for over 31 years, before retiring 2 years ago. He was a member of the Telephone Workers Union.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Denise Kelly of West Roxbury and Robert F. Kelly Jr. of CA. He was the brother of Walter "Sonny" Kelly of Millis and the half brother of Myrtle Harris of Rockland and Mildred Allen of Norton. He was the son-in-law of Frances Scala Platten and her husband Sumner Platten of Stoughton and the late George A. Scala. He was the brother in law of George A. Scala Jr. and his wife Maureen of Stoughton. He is also survived by his granddaughter Sabrina Foley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-8 PM. Burial will be private.
