Robert J. "Bo" Gillis, 41, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Sunday, September 25, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved son of John E. and Ann T. (McCarthy) Gillis. Bo was the loving brother of Patricia A. McGonagle and her husband Michael F. of Billerica and the devoted uncle of Conor M. and Molly P. McGonagle. He was the cherished cousin of Stephanie Unaka and her husband Leon and their daughters, Madelyn, April and Emily. He was also the Godfather of Conor McGonagle, April Unaka and Brittany Alves and is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins & close friends.
Born in Norwood, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1988. He resided in Stoughton for 36 years, previously living in Randolph. Bo was a technician for Comcast for 13 years. An avid Boston sports fan, he was a longtime Patriots season ticket holder. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed summer vacations in New Hampshire.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, September 30, at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10 AM.
