Robert H. Gaibl, 81, a life long resident of Stoughton, died Monday, April 16 at his home. He was the husband of 60 years of Eleanor S. (Lewis) Gaibl. Born in Stoughton, son of the late Louis and Marjorie (Harris) Gaibl, he was a graduate of Stoughton Schools, Class of 1943. He also attended New England School of Design in Boston. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Gaibl worked as a Weaver for Draper Brothers in Canton for over 40 years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed a lifelong interest in nature and was an avid botanist and fisherman. In recent years, he volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels in Stoughton.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons, Marjorie Young of Hanson, Martha Monsini of Easton, Millie Vella of Brockton, Robert L. Gaibl of Stoughton, and Richard Gaibl of W. Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his son Ronald and his brother Edward. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, April 19, from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be private. Donations in Bob's name may be made to Old Colony Elderly Services-Meals on Wheels, POB 4469, Brockton, 02303. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
