Robert D. Fay, 67, of Brockton and formerly of Stoughton, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born in Stoughton, son of the late Charles P. and Margaret M. (Thompson) Fay, he was a graduate of St. Mary's School in Stoughton and Cathedral High School in Boston. He graduated from St. John's Seminary and was ordained in 1967. He also received his master's degree in Divinity from St. John's in 1973. Mr. Fay retired several years ago and owned American Realty Co., in Brockton for 15 years.
Mr. Fay is survived by his brother Joseph E. Fay of Braintree and his sisters Mary Frances Fay of Ashland, NH, Annice M. Rich of Brockton and Michelle M. Ruggiero of North Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his brothers Charles P. Fay Jr., and James J. Fay. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, Wednesday at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM at the Farley Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Robert's name may be made to Catholic Charities, 75 Kneeland St., Boston, MA 02111.
