Robert J. Faunce, Sr., 64, died Tuesday, May 13 at the Concord Hospital in Concord, NH after a long period of failing health. He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Dusty (Balestrieri) Faunce. Born in Brockton, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. He was also a graduate of Cape Cod Community College, University of New Hampshire and earned his Master's Degree from Lesley College. Mr. Faunce was a resident of New Hampshire for over 30 years. He worked for New England Telephone and Verizon for many years in Brockton, Cataumet, Burlington and Manchester, NH. He retired several years ago. Mr. Faunce was an active member of the Stoughton community for several years. He was a former member of the Stoughton Little Theater and the Stoughton Auxiliary Police. A trivia buff, in his free time he enjoyed traveling, using his computer, watching old movies, classic TV shows and westerns, listening to 60's music and comedians and spending time with his family and dogs. He was the Faunce Family Historian.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons, Robert J. Faunce Jr. and his husband Roy Diaz of NY, Frank E. Faunce III of IL and Thomas J. Faunce and his wife Faith of NH. He was the son of Anne (D'Amadio) Faunce of Stoughton and the late Frank E. Faunce. He was the stepfather of Heather Devlin of MA, Jen Dodge of NH and Tony Philipp of NY and the brother of Barbara A. Marley of Stoughton. He was the cousin of Steven & Donna Goodman and family and is also survived by several grandchildren and cousins. Mr. Faunce was the uncle of Eric Marley and Katie Marley.
Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, May 18, at 4:30PM. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the prayers from 2-4:30PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Franklin VNA and Hospice, 75 Chestnut St, Franklin, NH 03235 or to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic, 1 Joslin Way, Boston, MA 02115.
