Bob was a 1971 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in W. Roxbury, Control Data Institute in Burlington in Computer Sciences, Class of 1980 and Stonehill College in Easton, Class of 1990, where he was a member of the Beta Xi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lamda National Honor Society for Continuing Education. For 13 years he was a self-employed Computer Consultant. In 2007 he began working in the IT Security and Risk Management Department at Biogen-Idec in Cambridge, where he was employed at the time of his death.
In his free time, Bob truly enjoyed spending time brainstorming computer issues with his sons Robert and Sean. He always said "It was great being a "Dad" but he loved being a "Grandpa." Saturdays or Sundays, being at the home of his eldest son, with family gathered (especially of the holidays) they were cherished days. Bob also enjoyed the camaraderie of playing poker with his longtime "poker buddies." Six amazing, long-term friendships that evolved over 32 years by a "bunch of computer guys that just worked together.""
Bob's life here on earth was way too short, but his memory will forever live within the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved him. He was such an amazing person who touched the lives of so many people, especially his co-workers.
