Robert E. Cambra, 79, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Margaret L. (Cronin) Cambra. Born in Fairhaven, he was raised and educated in Quincy Schools. Mr. Cambra was a resident of Stoughton since 1969. He was a member of the Painter's Union in Boston and worked for the MBTA as a painter for the past 17 years. Prior to working for the T, he worked on several notable projects, including painting the Kennedy Library and painting the famous BostonGas "Corita" Gas Tank on the Southeast Expressway. He was a talented landscaper and stoneworker and in his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his children; Lorraine I. Kofink-Maher and her husband Paul J. of Whitinsville, Robert E. Cambra,Sr. of Hull, Michael F. Cambra and his wife Jodi of CA and Kelley A. Cambra, Anthony P. Cambra and Kristin A. Cambra all of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Tiffany A. Maher, Robert E. Cambra jr, Joseph J. Cambra, Michael P. Cambra and Alexander Cambra. He was the brother of the late Barbara Jarvis and the uncle of Lynnette Jarvis and Jacqueline Jarvis. He is also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
Graveside Services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Washington Street (Rte.138) Stoughton on Wednesday, September 18 at 11AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, September 17 from 5-8PM.
