Robert A. Brauneis

Robert A. Brauneis, 85, a resident of Stoughton, died at Braemoor Health Center in Brockton on Sunday, October 20. He was the husband of the late Jeanne M. (O'Brien) Brauneis. Born in Boston, he was raised in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Boston Latin School and Northeastern University. He resided in Stoughton for past 7 years after living in Newton for many years. Mr. Brauneis served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an insurance adjuster and property claims manager for Kemper Insurance for many years before retiring 10 years ago. He was a former member of the Newton Zoning Board. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, spending time in Harwich and spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs.

Mr. Brauneis is survived by his children, Katherine J. Brauneis and her partner Amy H. Grinnell of Brockton and Robert A. Brauneis, Jr. and his wife Louise of Stoughton, as well as his grandchildren, Michelle, James and Patrick. He was the brother of the late Marion Carey.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, October 26 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Island Pond Cemetery, Harwich.
