Robert C. Bowman, 87, died January 11, 2014, at the Blue Hills Alzheimer's Care Center in Stoughton, after a long period of failing health. He is survived by his wife, Ardis B. (Hill) Bowman, of 66 years. Born in Boston, he was raised in Cambridge and Brighton and was a graduate of Brighton High School. Robert was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II. He worked as a Patent Office draftsman for Roberts, Cushman & Grover in Boston for over 50 years, retiring in 2003. He was also a Commercial Photographer. In his free time, Robert enjoyed photography and playing the organ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Valerie A. Ford and her husband Kevin of Oakham, MA, Jay A. Bowman of AZ, and Dale R. Bowman and his wife Nancy of Brockton. He was the brother of John Bowman and the late Paul Bowman both of Cripple Creek, CO. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be private.
