Robert J. Binns, 79, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at the Kindred Hospital in Stoughton on Sunday, April 4. He was the devoted husband of the late Ladora A. (Cruickshank) Binns. Born and raised in Boston, he was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1965. Mr. Binns was an auto body shop manager at Owen Motors in Dedham and Rodman Ford in Foxboro in the 1980's before retiring in the 1990's. A licensed appraiser, he also worked for Delaney Chevy, Randolph Chrysler Plymouth, Liberty Mutual and Commercial Union. He was a member of the 1st Corps of Cadets, Yankee Division Assn and 101st Infantry with the U.S. National Guard. He was in the National Guard for over 35 years and retired as a First Sergeant. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Binns is survived by his sons, Robert J. Binns, Jr. of Sharon, Paul T. Binns, James A. Binns and Daniel M. Binns all of Stoughton. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren. He was the brother of Jean Marie Fisher and Carol Ann Langmead both of CA, John W. Binns of Readville and the late Ernest M. and Edward T. Binns.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, April 10 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM.
