Robert A. Mayo of Londonderry and Manchester, NH, formerly of Stoughton, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2023. Born in Boston, he was the son to the late Richard J. “Dick” Mayo, Sr., and Joanne M. “Cookie” (Sullivan) Mayo. He was a graduate of Southeastern Regional High School. Robert spent his career as a cabinet maker in the manufacturing industry, and in his later years he worked in property maintenance. He was a skilled craftsman in woodworking, having made various pieces of furniture. He was also a devoted sports fan of the Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and the Red Sox - in that order. His favorite musician of all time was Kid Rock. He knew every verse to every one of his songs, and also loved all 80’s Rock and Roll music. He was also an avid pool player, even winning a championship for the PNCAs of Stoughton.
Rob is survived by his daughters Meaghan E. Mayo and her fiancé, Austen Pyles of Manchester, NH, and Erin S. Mayo of Londonderry, NH, as well as his former spouse Kathleen Mayo of Londonderry, NH. He is also survived by his siblings Joanne Cull and her husband John of Stoughton, Michael Mayo and his fiancé Susan Duross of Marshfield, and Sean Mayo and his significant other, Dianne Lopes of North Dartmouth, and was preceded in death by his brother Richard J. Mayo, Jr. He was the grandfather to Scarlett Pyles. He also leaves behind his stepmother Isabel Mayo of Buzzards Bay, as well as his nieces and nephews Andrew Cull and his wife Jessica of Attleboro, Mackenzie Cull of Stoughton, and Tyler Mayo of Foxboro and his great-niece Penelope Cull of Attleboro.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton on Monday, August 14th at 10:30AM. The family will be meeting directly at the church a half hour prior to the mass and kindly invites everyone who wants to attend. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Randolph Street in Canton following the mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob's memory may be made to Families in Transition, 122 Market Street, Manchester, NH 03101 or donate@fitnh.org.
