Richard D. Shumilla

Richard D. Shumilla, Jr., 47, a resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, September 27, 2015. Son of Richard D. Shumilla, Sr. of Southbury, CT and the late Mary Ann (Parillo) Shumilla, he was born in Boston and raised in Hyde Park. Richard was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School, Class of 1986 and the College of the Holy Cross, Class of 1990. Rick spent the majority of his professional career in the finance industry. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing golf. He also enjoyed music and taught himself how to play guitar.

In addition to his father, Rick is survived by his children, Nicholas and Christina Shumilla of Wellington, FL; his brother, Mark Shumilla and his wife Gina and their 3 sons of Cheshire, CT; and his girlfriend, Rachel Murphy of Stoughton.

Funeral Prayers will be offered from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday, October 4 at 6 PM. Visiting Hours prior from 3-6 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children, Development Office, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02214.
