Richard H. Saltmarsh, Sr., 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at West Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. He was the husband of the late Carleen (Grant) Saltmarsh. Son of the late Arthur and Pauline (Hill) Saltmarsh, he was born in Concord, NH and raised in Laconia, NH. Dick was a graduate of Laconia High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Hampshire. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Dick resided in Stoughton since 1982. He was a self-employed realtor. He was a longtime member of the Brockton YMCA and enjoyed running.
Dick was the loving father of Lisa Anderson of Brockton and the late Richard H. Saltmarsh, Jr. and his surviving wife, Joanne M. Saltmarsh of Stoughton. He was the grandfather of Ashley N. Colon and her husband Ismael Colon, Jr., Amanda E. Saltmarsh, Abby L. Saltmarsh and Cynthia Puopolo and her husband James. He was the great-grandfather of Preston and Ashton, Alianna F. Colon, Landon M. Colon and the late Logan O. Colon. He was the brother of the late Arthur Saltmarsh.
Graveside Service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1100 Washington St., Stoughton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dick's memory may be made to Home For Our Troops, 6 Main St., Taunton, MA 02780.
