Richard A. "Dicky" Penney, 50, died July 4, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Weymouth, he was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools. He was a resident of Stoughton for many years. Mr. Penney worked as a self employed carpenter. In his free time, he enjoyed motorcycling riding and spending time on the Wellfleet beaches.
He is survived by his children; Amie Savage of AZ, Dennis R. Penney and David F. Penney both of Stoughton. He was the son of Violet Gertrude (Noseworthy) Penney and Charles R. Penney of Stoughton. He was the brother of Susanne Ostroff, Charles R. Penney, Jr. and Patrick J. Penney all of Stoughton and Arthur P. Penney of Lakeville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, July 9, at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday, July 8, from 5-8 PM. Donations in Dicky's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, 02472.
