Richard Gregory McCauley, 80, died in Wrentham on Monday, November 20, 2023. Born in Boston, he was raised in Jamaica Plain and Dedham. He attended Newton Technical High School. Dick joined the Marine Corps in 1964 and served until 1969. He was a proud Marine who served in Vietnam for 13 months. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He was a resident of Hyannis for many years. Dick was a longtime beverage manager at Mitchell’s Steakhouse and a successful automobile salesman in Hyannis.  Following his retirement, he worked as a handyman and carpenter. Dick enjoyed a good game of golf, bowling, and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed reading, and spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Dick is preceded by his mother, Helen Begin of Canton and his sister Dianne Young.

Richard is survived by his three daughters, Tara McCauley of Dennis, Erica McCauley of Middletown, RI and Brenna McCauley of Newport, RI. He was the grandfather of Rosa Leigh McCauley and Ronan Brooks. He is also survived by sisters, Jeanne Compagnone of Easton and Nancy McArdle of Florida. Dick loved all his nieces and a nephew, many cousins, and his longtime friend, Jimmy Lynch of Sharon. Funeral services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave. Bourne on Thursday, December 7 at 10:15 AM.
