Richard E. Marshall, 64, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, June 19. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Butler) Marshall. Born and raised in Atlantic City, NJ, he earned his Bachelor's Degree and his Master's Degree in English from Boston University. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 18 years after living in Boston for over 20 years. Mr. Marshall was an executive advertiser for the Boston Globe for over 20 years before retiring 3 years ago. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He ran several track clubs and coached both the Stoughton High School and Middle School track teams.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Marshall is survived by his children, Richard Marshall, Jr. and Rebecca Potier and her husband Descartur all of GA and Jason Marshall of Stoughton. He is also survived by 1 grandson, several brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, June 27 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 10-11 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
