Richard C. "Dick" Hudson, 81, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday, September 28, 2009 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Elaine E. (Bowser) Hudson. Born in Randolph, he attended Randolph Schools. Mr. Hudson was a US Navy Veteran of both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a resident of Stoughton since 1954. Mr. Hudson worked as a Machinist for the Collins Company in Braintree from 1966 until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed the hobby of building and flying radio controlled airplanes as a member of the South Shore Radio Control Club. He also enjoyed camping, traveling and boating on Lake Winnipesauke, and spending time with his family and his dogs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Glen R. Hudson of FL and his three daughters, Bonnie C. Reckard of NH, Donna E. Breen of Westford and Paula D. Egan of East Bridgewater. He is also survived by his brother William R. Hudson and 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Mariner.
Funeral service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, October 1 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Donations in Dick's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
