Richard A. Galanis

Richard A. Galanis, age 61, passed away at the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton on December 24, 2024, after a brief illness. Born in Norwood, he was the loving son of the late Barbara A. (Rafferty) Galanis, and was raised and educated in Stoughton, graduating from Stoughton High School, and attended Salem State. Rich was devoted to his faith reading the bible daily and loved helping others.

Rich is survived by his siblings Mary O’Brien and her husband John of Stow, Arlene Galanis Cachopa and her husband Manny of Stoughton, Robert J. Galanis of Canton, Peter L. Galanis, Jr., and his wife Amanda of Stoughton, Paul A. Galanis and his wife Rosie of Mansfield, and John A. Galanis and his wife Meredith of Barnstable. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as his longtime companion Cindy, and his friend Bill W.

Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Monday December 30th from 4-7 PM, with Funeral Prayers at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rich’s memory may be made by Planting a Memorial Tree through the Farley Funeral Home website.
