Richard "Ricka" Burton, 53, died Saturday, August 12 at his home in Bridgewater. Born in Roxbury, he was a graduate of Whitman Hanson High School. Mr. Burton was a resident of Bridgewater for the past 10 years, previously living in Easton and Hanson. He was a member of Carpenter's Local 33 in Boston for over 30 years. He was considered a master carpenter and craftsman. Ricka took tremendous pride in his work and was truly a perfectionist. He was a loving father, brother and son as well as a devoted fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and Brockton Rox. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and loved participating in family gatherings.
Mr. Burton is survived by his children, Aaron Burton of Easton and Bridgewater and Aja Burton of Easton. He was the son of Eva (Stronach) Burton of Hanson and the late George Burton. He was the brother of Donna Unda and her husband Walter of NH, George Burton and his wife Marie of S. Boston, Catherine Wozniak and her husband Joseph of Walpole and Mary McDonald and her husband Michael of Stoughton. He was the former husband of Diane M. Burton of Easton. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Easton, at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8 PM. Donations in Ricka's name may be made to the LIFE Center, POB 2356, Brockton, 02305. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
