Richard W. "Dick" Barris, 86, a resident of Wareham, died peacefully at Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Buzzards Bay on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. He was the husband of the late Dorothea (Nealon) Barris. Son of the late John and Mary (Voicrulevice) Barisaukas, he was born and raised in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School. Dick was a resident of Stoughton for many years before moving to Wareham over 4 years ago. He was an Airman 3rd Class in the U.S. Air Force and a Veteran of the Korean War. Dick owned Rt. 139 Super Shell in Randolph for 10 years and also was a postal worker at the South Postal Annex in Boston for 10 years. He also worked at Sylvania in Woburn for several years. He was a member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
Dick is survived by his son, Richard J. Barris and his wife Courtney of Wareham, as well as his grandchildren, Kelly Jones, Brandon Barris and Zachary Barris. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
