Rheta E. (Watson) Rusilko, 98, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Baypointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Brockton on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was the wife of the late John Rusilko. Daughter of the late Thomas and Frances Maude (Giles) Watson, she was born in Quincy and raised in Easton. She resided in Stoughton since 1938. She was a cook at Norfolk Nursing Home in Stoughton for 15 years before retiring over 40 years ago. Rheta was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Stoughton where she served on the Diaconate Care Giving Committee, the Missionary Committee and the Finance Committee. She was also Past President of the Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Brockton Camera Club, Stoughton Historical Society and Red Hat Society. Her hobbies included reading, handwriting analysis and Tarot card reading. Rheta gave slideshow travelogues at the Stoughton Public Library and other clubs and groups. She also loved to travel but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and attending family functions. She also enjoyed attending her Oliver Ames High School reunions.
Rheta is the beloved mother of John Rusilko of Easton, Peter Rusilko of Taunton and James Rusilko of Stoughton, grandmother of Michael and Daniel Russell and great grandmother of Nicolas and Abby. She was the sister of Ruth Cady of Maynard and the late Doris Hall, Frances Langley, Helen Lewis, Leslie Gustafson, Norma Sally Yannone, Anne Young, Thomas Watson, Kenneth Watson and Phyllis Landerville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the First Congregational Church, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton on Monday, November 7 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. At Rheta's request, no flowers will be accepted but donations in Rheta's memory may be made to First Congregational Church of Stoughton, 76 Pierce St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
